  • I would say this was good dark room listening, but there are one or two severe noise tracks here which break it up, and I'm talking SEVERE. Apart from that though, the atmosphere created here is supber, taking old 78s and drowning them in mental distortion, going some way to what was going on inside Jack Nicholson's head in the film The Shining (the caretaker in question, and the inspiration for the project). Jim Kirby admits this album is a bit flabby, too many tracks.
